The Message of the Joint Staff of JPKF

On May, 19th, 2007 at the administrative border of South Ossetia in the area of the southern side of Tskhinvali and the Georgian villages Ergneti, Kvemo-Nikozi from 20.15pm till 20.35pm and from 21.48pm till 22.00 intensive skirmishes with application of small arms and grenade cup discharges have occurred.
On arrival at the place of the incident of a group of the tripartite military observers of JPKF and the representatives of the mission of OSCE the shelling has stopped. In view of impossibility of work of the military observers during the dark time of the day the monitoring on the district has been suspended.
Since 9.00am today the group of the tripartite military observers from the structure of JPKF and the officers of the mission of OSCE continues the monitoring at the place of the yesterday's incident.
