Today the Republic celebrates the International Children’s Day. During this day are organized many festive arrangements for the children from kindergartens and schools.
On the fact of a special terroristic operation by the special forces of Georgia against peaceful Ossetian population, carried out on 27 May 2006, the Procurators Office of the Republic of South Ossetia instigated a criminal case as per article 126 of the Criminal Code of the RF (kidnapping).
One of the biggest socio-economic problems of the Republic is the situation with the remote mountainous villages. The Government of the Republic is working out special programs for revival and development of those regions.
