RSO Interior Minister Valeri Valiev: “The Law Enforcement Bodies of South Ossetia will ensure law and order during the Parliamentary Election”

At the threshold of RSO Parliamentary election the law enforcement bodies of South Ossetia intensified their patrolling regime, reported the RSO Interior Minister Valeri Valiev. “The law enforcement structures has beforehand set the plan of measures to ensure law and order during the Parliamentary election, and this plan is already in action. The Interior Ministry personnel on round-the-clock service has been increased, additional checkpoints had been deployed. Special units are on high alert to be able to rapidly react to any sign of breach of law”, explained Valiev.

The South Ossetian side: Georgia has admitted that there are seven South Ossetian citizens detained in its prisons

Today, the second meeting of the working groups within the frames of the agreements reached at Geneva talks was held in the village of Dvani (Georgia) at the borderline with South Ossetia. Representatives of South Ossetia, Georgia, EU and OSCE participated in the meeting. According to the Deputy Special Representative for Post-Conflict Settlement Merab Chigoev, the meeting was difficult and the discussion was tense.
