Kokoity Says Russia Is Main Strategic Partner of South Ossetia

No anti-Russian sentiment in South Ossetia will happen, stated South Ossetian President Eduard Kokoity in Tskhinval. In his view, any questions in this regard would be a provocation against the people of the Republic.
"Russia was and is our main strategic partner. Russia is the country which we owe because today we can meet each other. We owe because many people sayed alive," said Kokoity.
According to him, we should be aware who some politicians and political analysts are helping by making statements which are not better than those of Saakashvili.

South Ossetian President: No outside forces will be allowed

Next year, there will be an important event in South Ossetia – election of the first president of the independent, recognized Republic of South Ossetia, stated the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity at his meeting with members of parliament.
According to him, these elections will be held peacefully, in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of South Ossetia and with the internationally recognized principles and norms of democracy.
"We have always held such events at a high political level and this election will be no exception", stressed the president.

Eduard Kokoity: I am against the presence of OSCE and EU in South Ossetia

In South Ossetia there is misstrust towards European structures, because they bear responsibility for the killings of the Ossetian people. This statement was made today by the President of South Ossetia, Eduard Kokoity, during a meeting with members of parliament of South Ossetia.
According to him, the OSCE and other structures should share with Georgia the responsibility for the events of August 2008.

Relatives of the Missing South Ossetians Appeal to the UN, EU and OSCE

Relatives of people missing after the Georgian military aggression against the Republic of South Ossetia in August 2008, residents of South Ossetia, sent an appeal to the UN Secretary General Mr. Ban Ki-Moon, the President of the European Union, Mr. Herman Van Rompuy, the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Mr. Kanat Saudabayev asking for an objective assessment of the actions of the Georgian side.
The IA "Res" publishes the full text of the appeal:

We, hereby, the parents and relatives of the missing people of South Ossetia address you with a request to help in tracing our relatives.

David Sanakoev: Every effort should be made to clarify the fate of missing persons

For South Ossetia it is important that the issues related to the fate of missing citizens of South Ossetia receive the same attention as cases of missing Georgian citizens, stated the Commissioner for Human Rights David Sanakoev.
According to him, the parents of missing citizens of the Republic continued their efforts to attract attention to the problem.
"They requested the organizations co-chairing the Geneva discussions and the media to help solving this humanitarian issue of the missing people", said Sanakoev.

- Amiran Evgenovich, at a certain point, the political leaders of South Ossetia decided to close the state border with Georgia to everybody, except the residents of Leningor district. How do you assess the visits of representatives of the OSCE to the Republic through the South Ossetian-Georgian border? And, what is the attitude towards this border-crossing by the representatives of the OSCE?

OSCE Delegation Meets the Authorities of South Ossetia

A delegation of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), headed by the OSCE High Commissioner for National Minorities Knut Vollebaek arrived in South Ossetia.
In Tskhinval, the delegation met with the Foreign Minister of South Ossetia Murat Dzhioev. The meeting was also attended by South Ossetian President's Plenipotentiary for Post-Conflict Settlement Boris Chochiev and the Plenipotentiary for Human Rights David Sanakoev.
Murat Dzhioyev assured the OSCE representative that they would be given an opportunity to see the process ongoing in South Ossetia, including the situation with national minorities.

OSCE High Commissioner for National Minorities Knut Vollebaek Arrives in South Ossetia

Tomorrow, on November 3, OSCE High Commissioner for National Minorities Ambassador Knut Vollebaek is expected to visit South Ossetia. The delegation of the OSCE will also include Senior Advisor Kaupo Kand and Senior Administrator Simon Short.
As the Foreign Ministry of South Ossetia reported to IA "Res", during his visit to Tskhinval, the delegation will meet with Foreign Minister Murat Dzhioev, South Ossetian Plenipotentiary for Post-Conflict Settlement Boris Chochiev and Plenipotentiary fir Human Rights David Sanakoev.
