Grand meeting dedicated to the sixth anniversary of the recognition of the independence of South Ossetia took place in Tskhinval

Today in the capital of South Ossetia has taken place a grand meeting dedicated to the sixth anniversary of Russia's recognition of South Ossetia. The event was attended by the leadership of the Republic, led by President Leonid Tibilov, visitors from Russia, Abkhazia, Kabardino-Balkaria and other republics.
The festivities were also attended by the first and second presidents of South Ossetia Ludwig Chibirov and Eduard Kokoity, as well as a delegation of "Gazprom".
Leonid Tibilov has congratulated the gathered and noted that, while recognizing the independence of South Ossetia; Moscow realized the full extent of responsibility.
"South Ossetia and Russia over the years tried to find a compromise solution in the framework of negotiations on the settlement of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict. Georgia, however, ignored not only our peace initiatives, but also international agreements on the settlement and the format of the peacekeeping operation in South Ossetia, focusing on military force. Unleashing the war, trampling international law, causing a humanitarian catastrophe, Georgia proved it the party that ignored the methods of diplomacy, compromise in resolving the perennial disputes, "- said Tibilov.
He has noted that time has shown the correctness of the choice of the Ossetian people and that Russia is a strategic partner of South Ossetia.
"Six years ago, Russia saved our nation from destruction and took responsibility for the fate of the Ossetian people," - stressed Tibilov.
International recognition has opened up new prospects for South Ossetia, made it possible to develop the spirit of enterprise and initiative. The main thing now is to ensure the stable development of the country, a decent standard of life for each of its residents.
At the meeting were also the leaders of delegations arrived in the Republic, read out congratulatory letter of the heads of states, also took place the award ceremony of employees of Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the launch of the gas pipeline "Dzuarikau-Tskhinval."

The Marsh of the Grateful "Thank you, Russia" took place in South Ossetia

Today, August 26, festive events dedicated to the Day of Recognition of the Independence of South Ossetia began with theatrical procession– the March of the Grateful "Thank you, Russia." The event was attended by the leadership of the Republic, led by President Leonid Tibilov, representatives of the parliament headed by Speaker Anatoly Bibilov, as well as members of the public.
At the beginning of the event the President congratulated the gathered and wished them peace and prosperity.

"Today we have gathered here to celebrate one of the most significant events in the history of our nation - the Day of Recognition of the independence of South Ossetia - said Tibilov. - For six years, we have been building our Republic, strengthening and developing it, as evidenced by the implementation of the 2014 Investment Program to promote socio-economic development of the Republic of South Ossetia . Today, each of us is thankful to the Great Russia, the leadership of the Russian Federation for the recognition of our independence. Long live South Ossetia! Long live our heroic people! ".
Defense Minister Valery Yakhnovets has also congratulated the people of South Ossetia,
"For two decades the people had been striving for this victory. The losses were huge, inhumane living conditions, but the results met all expectations - said Yakhnovets. – The Republic of South Ossetia has gained the independence - Russia recognized it. May God give the citizens of South Ossetia peace and prosperity!"
The event continued with performances of dance groups of South Ossetia.
