Easter Sunday is being celebrated in South Ossetia

The Orthodox people of South Ossetia are celebrating Easter Sunday. On Sunday night at the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Tskhinval took place a festive liturgy, chanted by the archpriest of the Tskhinval churches Jacob Khetagurov.
The liturgy was attended by the President of South Ossetia Leonid Tibilov, Parliament Speaker Anatoly Bibilov, representatives of the Government and Parliament of the Republic, as well as the Orthodox of South Ossetia.

Hundreds of the faithful gathered on the church square, taking part in a cross procession around the temple. At the end of the liturgy the priest congratulated the Orthodox parishioners, noting that the Holy Easter is celebrated as a symbol to begin a new life.
"Easter is a celebration of joy, celebration of life, we will pray for the wellbeing, and thank the Lord for peace," - said the priest.

Leonid Tibilov addressed the people of the Republic wishing them peace and kindness.
"I want to wish all the citizens health, peace, prosperity, strength of mind and God's help in all matters. Christ is risen! "- Said the head of state.

After the solemn liturgy the priests of the Alan diocese traditionally consecrated Easter cakes and eggs, and then the parishioners congratulated each other on Easter.

State Committee for Information and Press of South Ossetia and International News Agency "Russia Today" signed a Cooperation Agreement

State Committee of Information and Press of South Ossetia and International News Agency "Russia Today" have agreed on cooperation to broader and more effective coverage of important events in political, social, economic, cultural, scientific, educational, sports and other areas of Russia and South Ossetia.
The relevant "Agreement on information cooperation" was signed on April 8 in Moscow by the Chairman of the RSO State Committee of Information and Press of South Ossetia Vyacheslav Gobozov and CEO of International News Agency "Russia Today" Dmitry Kiselev.
According to the document, "Russia Today" opens representative office in South Ossetia, to which the South Ossetian news agency has promised to "create favorable conditions" for working.
It is also expected to organize and conduct on the basis of the agency or its partner’s internships, workshops and seminars on retraining of journalists’ media of the RSO. In addition, "Russia Today" will facilitate direct contacts and cooperation of South Ossetia with the media of the Russian Federation and other countries.
The Agreement also states that representatives of the Republic of South Ossetia will take part in international events held under the auspices of "Russia Today", and representatives of the news - in actions and activities held by the public authorities of South Ossetia.
