Already the second day Tskhinval, the capital of the Republic of South Ossetia, practically does not receive potable water. Problems have once again arisen on the site of the water sluice Edis-Tskhinval in the area of the georgian-populated villages Tamarasheni-Kekhvi, controllable by the Georgian side.
As it is known, in May of the current year an accident has occurred on this site, as a result of which Tskhinval has been in water blockade more than two months. After the interference of the Mission of OSCE, the Georgian authorities have repaired the water pipe. The repair works have been made poorly, that together with the illegal cuttings of the inhabitants of the above-mentioned Georgian villages, irrigating their kitchen-gardens by that water, has caused more than 70 % deficiency of water delivery on water sluice.
Since July, 9-th water supply to the town is again completely blocked. It is not known what had particularly happened, as the Georgian side still does not admit the ossetian repairmen to the problem sites of the water sluice.
