Sukhum played host for the ceremony of unveiling an Embassy of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Republic of Abkhazia. The ceremony was participated by the President of RSO Eduard Kokoity and the President of RA Sergey Bagapsh. As the President of the Republic of South Ossetia informed IA «Res» correspondent «this event is significant not only for South Ossetia and Abkhazia but for all who struggling for their independence. We are clearly demonstrating the democratic principles realization in the defending of political will of our nations. We are ready for cooperation with the adherents to peace, democracy and understanding. We have marked a new stage in our relations with Abkhazia what could enhance significantly the political and economical resources of our states».
Recently in September 2007 in Sukhum the President of the Republic of Abkhazia Sergey Bagapsh received the credentials of the Ambassador of the Republic of South Ossetia. In the capacity of the Head of South Ossetian diplomatic mission to Abkhazia has been accredited Robert Kokoev.
