The President of the Republic of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoitz held a meeting with chief representatives of law enforcement and defense bodies of South Ossetia. Prime-Minister Vadim Brovtsev attended the meeting. In his opening speech, Eduard Kokoity noted that the people of South Ossetia had once again demonstrated high political culture: "Our people is well aware of who is going to destabilize the situation around South Ossetia for what purpose, who is pursuing what political goals by organizing different actions", said the president commenting on the information disseminated by certain media sources about the "opposition" rally scheduled for 20 March in Tskhinval.

The chief representatives of law enforcement and defense bodies reported on their weekly activities. The Interior Minister of South Ossetia Valery Valiev noted that throughout the reported period there were no crimes recorded. "Through the reported wee, we have detained 30 drunk drivers. It is necessary to raise the issue of increasing the penalty fee or impose criminal penalty against them", said Valiev. Valery Valiev has also informed that preventive anti-criminal measures were ongoing. The Minister for Emergency Situations Anatoly Bibilov informed on the breakdown at the Dzuarikau-Tskhinval gas pipeline. According to his information, at 02:00 a.m. on 22 March, a landslide damaged the main pipeline near the village of Zaramag. "The pressure in the pipeline was 14 atmospheres, while now is decreased to 9 atmospheres. This is enough for 24 hour consumption of South Ossetia. We will be informed additionally informed on the maintenance works", said BIbilov.
Eduard Kokoity emphasized that the Prosecutor General's Office and South Ossetian specialists had repeatedly pointed to the shortcomings in the construction of the gas pipeline. The South Ossetian Parliament Speaker Stanislav Kochiev, heads of city and district administrations, Minister of Education, Science and Youth Policy Ariana Djioeva, South Ossetian State University Rector Teimuraz Kokoev were also invited to the sessions. Addressing the heads of district administrations, Eduard Kokoity informed that the Government would soon abolish the state fee imposed on the citizens of South Ossetia for exporting their agricultural outputs. Next year, we will be ready to collect the apples from the population, process and then export juice to Russia", said Eduard Kokoity.
President had also tasked to carry out streets clean-up and get prepared for the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the Victory Day. "These measures should be systematic and regular and it is necessary to engage students and schoolchildren. It is necessary to clean up the territory around out sanctuaries", said Eduard Kokoity.
During the discussion, the heads of administrations informed about the problems they encountered in their work. Almost all of them pointed to the lack of machinery, problems with road conditions and delayed establishment of communal services in their districts.
The Head of Leningor district Alan Djussoev pointed to irrigation problems and frequent cuts-off of power supply. "If there is a minor short circuit at some part of the electricity line, the automatic switch-off is enabled and there is no electricity", said Djussoev.
The meeting continued with the discussion of illegal drug trafficking and drug addiction. The president tasked relevant structures to control the situation. "We should fight for the health of our nation, even if the measures are tough and unpopular. There is no place for drug addicts and alcoholics in our society", stated the President.
