Ambassadors of Nicaragua and Venezuela submitted their credentials to the RSO Minister for Foreign Affairs

Ambassadors Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary of Nicaragua and Venezuela in South Ossetia Luis Molina Quadra and Hugo Jose Garcia Hernandez submitted copies of their credentials to the RSO Minister for Foreign Affairs Murat Djioev.
Ambassador Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary of South Ossetia in the Russian Federation Dmitri Medoev attended the meeting. The meeting was opened with the sides welcoming speeches. "I am pleased about your arrival in South Ossetia in the capacity of Ambassadors Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary of our countries", said Murat Djioev. "We consider this visit as the proof of your freedom-loving peoples' highest consideration towards South Ossetia. The people of South Ossetia passed through a hard path to its independence. This path was laid through on the cost of many victims and the hardest period in the history of our people was the 2008 aggression.

Thanks to Russia, we could survive and achieve our independence. Owing to the recognition of Russia, South Ossetia could become a recognized member of the international community. We very much appreciated the recognition by our countries – Venezuela and Nicaragua. It means that South Ossetian gained the right for free, democratic life".
In his turn, Luis Molina Quadra underlined that the solidarity of the peoples of Nicaragua and South Ossetia was strong, for the peoples of Latin America had been also fighting for their independence for a long time.
Hugo Garcia Hernandez stated that Venezuela and South Ossetia were taking historical steps officially confirming the relations between the countries. "In his foreign policy, Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez follows the line of maintained relations with all states of the international community. Independence and self-determination of the states is respected. It is honorable for me to become the first Ambassador of Venezuela in South Ossetia", said Hugo Jose Garcia Hernandez.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia expressed his assuredness that the activities of the Ambassadors would be for the benefit of the peoples of Venezuela, Nicaragua and South Ossetia and would promote the movement of all freedom-loving peoples.
The sides discussed a number of issues of mutual interest, including the perspectives of cooperation between the countries.
Luis Molina Quadro and Hugo Jose Garcia Hernandez are meeting the president of the Republic of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity on 9 July to submit their credentials.
