All schools in Znaur district of South Ossetia are ready to receive students for 2010-2011 school year. As the Chief of Znaur District Education Department Elvira Gabaraeva told IA RES, some of them were renovated during the summer holidays.
"In Teregvan, the secondary school building front, gutters and downspouts were renovated" , she specified. - In-house repair and restoration of the roof of the school building have been made earlier. As to Znaur secondary school, it is not ready to accommodate the children on 1 September. The building has been badly damaged during the war in August 2008, and there are still repairs to be completed. Therefore, lessons, as in the past year, will be conducted in the former building of the district committee of the Communist party.

According to Gabaraeva, the rehabilitation works are about to finish, but the budget does not provide for equipping of the schoolyard and construction of heating boiler.
"If there is no heating boiler built for the school, we will not accommodate children there, since in winter it is freezing and unbearably cold for children", she said.
The Chief of the Education Department noted that the district had to close two schools.
"Unfortunately, Tsnelis and Garistau secondary schools were closed because of the small contingent. The functioning of Arknet secondary school is also questionable", said Gabaraeva.
Touching upon the issue of school textbook supplies, Gabaraeva noted that in the district schools face no problems.
"All schools in the district are equipped with textbooks and visual aids. There are problems only with textbooks of Ossetian language and literature, but the staff of the Ministry of Education promised to solve this problem ", she added.
It is worth mentioning that all together 60 schools will be open in South Ossetia to be attended by 5,000 students.
