A hand-over of seven Georgian citizens serving their sentence or under investigation in South Ossetia and equal number of South Ossetians detained in Georgia took place today at the borderline between South Ossetia and Georgia.
The agreement on this hand-over was reached at 17 February meeting within the frames of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism.
The below Georgian citizens were handed over to the Georgian side: Maro Patarashvili, Demuri Chikhladze, David Kapanadze, Zviad Kobaladze, Georgy Elbakidze, Beka Tokadze and Vazha Tokadze.
The below persons were returned to South Ossetia: Anatoly Bestaev, Kazbek Dzugkoev, Zevinari Kazieva, Yuriy Khachirov, Spartak Driaev, Vitaly Chochiev and Murman Kasaev.
The head of South Ossetian delegation to the IPRM Merab Chigoev, representatives of law enforcement bodies of South Ossetia, the RF Embassy in SO, the RF FSB Border Guard Department in South Ossetia participated in the hand-over. The Georgian side was represented by the head of the Georgian delegation to the IRPM Shota Utiashvili and representatives of Georgian law enforcement bodies.
