The South Ossetian side is going to firmly raise the issue of elaboration of legally binding non-use of force document at the forthcoming 15th round of international diccussions on security in the South Caucasus, Boris Chochiev, the head of the South Ossetian Delegation to the discussions, Special Representative for Post-Conflict Settlement, told IA RES.
“After the 2.5 years of the discussions, there no developments in the elaboration of the draft legally binding document on non-use of force”, noted Chochiev.

He stated that the South Ossetian side was going to speak about the weak stand of the Co-Chairs who focused on various “successes” which were not that relevant for South Ossetia. “We will take a firm position due to the recent statement of the president of Georgia, according to which a conclusion might be drawn that he woul not abandon the idea to use of force against South Ossetia and Abkhazia in the future, and the Co-Chairs and international organizations remain blind to this”, said Chochiev.
He underlined that during the discussions, the refugee problems would be also focused on. “International organizations put pressure on us in relation to the settlement of refugee problem, but when at the 13th round, we moved forward our readiness to ruturn the inhabitants of Leningor district to their homes, the UN, OSCE and EU came to a deadlock since their plans did not envisage any concrete solution in regards to Leningor and its residents”, he said.
It is worth reminding that representatives of South Ossetia, Russia, Abkhazia, the United States, Georgia, EU, OSCE and UN participate in the Geneva Discussions. The next round of discussions will take place on 4 March 2011. Questions related to missing South Ossetian, rehabilitation of water and gas supply systems in Leningor district will be among the priorities.
