There is no any sense for South Ossetia to take the «neutral passports", which are being offered by Georgia. It has been reported IA "Res" by the South-Ossetian expert on conflicts, the chief of the NGO "Association of social, economic and cultural development" Dina Alborova.

"I think that nobody needs it today, these are all in the past, and the train has left for, as the saying goes. At present, what Georgia offers South Ossetia and Abkhazia is what in due course South Ossetia and Abkhazia offered Georgia and also the International community. But time has passed, we have gone forward, but Georgia wants to make us return 10-15 years backward. I personally do not see any necessity in it", - declares Alborova. In the opinion of the expert, it’s unreasonable for people of South Ossetia and Abkhazia to receive the "neutral passports". "For getting this passport one will have to refuse from the Russian passport-that means from the Russian citizenship. And here is the question: if people refuse from the Russian international-recognized citizenship for some incomprehensible document, which is called the neutral passport, what they will obtain? Today some incomprehensible neutral passport is being issued, but tomorrow the government of Georgia will say, that the action of these passports stops, the transition period is completed and people having abandoned to Russian citizenship, will become the stateless persons again. We take into consideration all these factors ", - says Alborova. Moreover, she refers to Kosovo, where certain time the passport of UN was in use. "We have the experience of Kosovo, when its citizens were getting the so called UN passports, which they could use while leaving Kosovo, but even with these passports they had a problem, because not all the countries acknowledged them and allowed the people to enter their country. It was also very difficult to get visas even for a very short period to the countries of EU having the passport of UN.", - notes the expert. "I think, we all feel comfortable with double citizenship both of the Republic of South Ossetia and Russian Federation. We can peacefully solve our problems, leave for South Ossetia and Russia, the issues of getting education and qualitative medical service, which, regrettably, we can not get at the place yet", - considers Alborova. Remind, that the passports with the "neutral status" without the state insignia are being offered South Ossetia and Abkhazia by Georgia. The Ministry of foreign affairs of South Ossetia, in turn, declares that "no one in South Ossetia is interested in the "neutral" passports ".
