The President of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity has called the people and the deputies of the Parliament of the Republic to the unity. It is told in the today’s appeal of the head of the state. Here is a full text of the appeal. - Dear friends! For many years we have been fighting for the freedom of our people shoulder to shoulder.
I know about the contribution each of you has made to the struggle for independence of our native South Ossetia. I’ve become the President thanks to you, and the republic has regained the international recognition. Today we continue to build the legal democratic state on the basis of the Constitution approved by the Parliament. And if we want our young republic to be treated with respect, that the process of its recognition becomes irreversible, we should prove to the whole world that we’ve been fully established as a free democratic state our proud ancestors were dreaming about! And we should be united in this matter. Owing to our brotherhood, with joint efforts we have been firmly following the course of further development of our country which meets the expectations of our people. I assure you, I will do everything to continue this policy also after the November elections of the new President who, I am convinced, will act as the guarantor of providing the policy I have been conducting with your support,- the policy directed on prosperity of South Ossetia. That is why I am addressing to you, my dears, with the request to refrain from carrying out any actions and initiatives in my support as the candidate for the President for the third term. Your help will also be necessary for me after the elections as I am not going to leave anywhere from the political scene, I will remain here, with you and I will serve our Native land. For I have sworn, irrespective of my post, to serve my People and I will be faithful to this oath all my life!
