I welcome the participants of the Second Scientific Society of the Caucasus researchers conference dedicated to the «Problems of the Caucasus and the modern Caucasus research; a role of external and internal factors in the region development». Yesterday the first stage of the conference took place in Vladikavkaz; very interesting and factful reports about the role of external and internal factors in the development of the Caucasus have been delivered at the meeting. Today in the capital of our Republic the second stage of the conference is taking place and it is planned to discuss a subject «Conflicts, demography and a role of mass-media».
Certainly, this question is very important. In whole the problems are urgent, that is the evidence of the interest on the part of the international expert community to problems of the Caucasus. Taking an opportunity, I would like to greet all of you and express sincere gratitude to the Doctor of History, the President of the Scientific Society of the Caucasus researchers Krylov Alexander Borisovich for the initiative of conducting this stage of conference in the Republic of South Ossetia. I think, it would be not bad to make these conferences traditional and in future to conduct them here regularly that, undoubtedly, will promote more advanced studying and analysis of the situation in the Caucasus. For our part we will render all-round assistance in carrying out the similar forums. Let me greet once again all our visitors from the Russian Federation who are in constant contact with us, from brotherly Abkhazia, Armenia who are not the first time in South Ossetia, and also the representative of Poland Mateush Piskorsky, honored with the state award of the Republic of South Ossetia. I am glad that the circle of participants of the conference is being extended more and more. And today for the first time there are representatives of Azerbaijan and Turkey here, whom I`d like also to express my gratitude for participation in the conference. I would like to express special gratitude to the representative of Germany Peter Luchak – a founder of the Society of the German-Ossetian Friendship. Activity of such kind of societies in many respects promotes establishing of reliable bridges of friendship and brotherhood between people, realizing of problems and searching for ways of their resolving. I wish you the fruitful work, new creative and scientific victories for consolidating peace and mutual understanding in the Caucasus!
