Today the candidates for president of South Ossetia, live on the state television are going to sign a joint statement on holding free and fair presidential elections. The draft statement has been proposed by the presidential candidate David Sanakoev during the today's round table in Tskhinval, "Election of the President of South Ossetia, March 25 – is a new stage of development of statehood of the Republic." During the discussion the candidate Dmitry Medoev has noted that in February a similar document was signed by contenders for the presidency, whose action groups at that time were registered by the Central Election Committee.

"We met then and made a joint appeal, thereby defining our position on the upcoming voting process. It was very important. I hope that my colleagues are also taking the same stand and we will be worthy to campaign, "- Medoev has underlined. His opinion was supported by another presidential candidate - David Sanakoev, who stressed that the elections should be held in accordance with the electoral law. "If we use the dirty technologies, we will discredit both ourselves and our people", - said Sanakoev. In turn, Leonid Tibilov also assured the participants of the round table that he and his team would ensure fair and transparent elections.
"People must discern in us the human beings, worthy of the presidency"-said Tibilov.
The round table participants have also discussed the similar draft agreement, proposed by the candidate for president of South Ossetia Stanislav Kochiev; his version is slightly different from that, presented by David Sanakoev. At the end of the discussion the candidates have decided to finalize the draft agreement and sign it today.
