Over a thousand law enforcement officers have been involved in securing the elections in South Ossetia

On the eve of the second round of presidential elections, security forces of South Ossetia have been transferred to intensified service. As reported to IA "Res" by the Interior Minister of South Ossetia Valery Valiev, from April 6 until further notice the personnel of the agency will be involved in the activities to ensure the public order and security at the polling stations.

"All the facilities are protected. In total, one thousand law enforcement officers are involved in securing law and order,"- said the Minister.
He has stressed that the agency is ready to stop any illegal activities in the Election Day, and possible attempts to distort and fraud during the counting of votes.
Moreover, from April 7 the border with Georgia will be closed for twenty-four hours.
"As part of the activities on securing the elections in the Republic from 20:00 on April 7 passing people through the simplified points of crossing the state border with Georgia in the settlements Mosabrun, Artsevi and Sinagur Karzman will be suspended. Passing citizens through these points will be resumed after the polls have been closed at 20:00 on April 8,"- IA "Res" has been informed by the police of South Ossetia. It should be reminded, that the second round of presidential elections in South Ossetia will be held on April 8.
