President of South Ossetia appealed to the population of the Republic not to succumb to rumors of the war

The leadership of South Ossetia and the Russian delegation headed by Deputy Emergency Situations Minister Alexander Volosov, arrived in the Republic to celebrate the 20th anniversary of entering the Russian peacekeeping contingent, visited the Ossetian yard in the village of Khetagurovo (Tskhinval district of South Ossetia). During the visit, the guests were showed the Ossetian life, customs and traditions. South Ossetian art groups performed the Ossetian folk songs and dances.

At a briefing in the village of Khetagurovo President of South Ossetia Leonid Tibilov noted that since entering the peacekeeping forces in South Ossetia, the population of the Republic began living in peace.
"We have mentioned today how much damage was done to our Republic in the course of this aggression. Many of our fellow citizens went missing in 2008. We hope that through the Geneva discussions, we will find those young people who were captured by the Georgian armed gangs"- the president said.
He expressed gratitude to Russia, which had recognized the independence of South Ossetia.
"Today we are strengthening our position in the international arena", - said Tibilov.
The president said the people of South Ossetia would always honor the memory of the fallen peacekeepers during the Georgian aggression.
In turn, Alexander Volosov has noted that today have been discussed issues of cooperation between the North-Caucasian State Centre and Emergency Ministry of South Ossetia.
"This will reduce the response time and ensure the safety of people", - said Volosov.
In addition, the President of South Ossetia, addressing the media, appealed to the population not to succumb to rumors of the war.
"I would like to appeal to the population and to refute rumors about a new aggression of Georgia against South Ossetia. We must think about building our future."
A museum of peacekeeping operations was opened in the outskirts of the capital of South Ossetia, timed to celebration of Peacemaker`s Day;demonstration of a documentary film
"Creating Peace…", dedicated to the Russian peacekeepers in South Ossetia, as well as a ceremonial meeting of representatives of the public were also held in Tskhinval.
