The mission of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) intends to continue supporting the needy population of South Ossetia. As IA "Res" has been informed by the assistant of the head of the ICRC office in Tskhinval Wanda Bolataeva, in a program on supporting the population of South Ossetia, the ICRC is guided by strict criteria for determining the vulnerability of the potential beneficiaries.

"Generally, they are older people with low pensions and single mothers without a permanent source of income. Many people applied to us, so we are driving all over the Republic, communicating with them on the spot and assessing their real living conditions. Based on these trips, we have found more than 300 people in South Ossetia, needing assistance ", - said Bolataeva.
According to her, the ICRC every three months gives the needy food products.
"We give people food products, such as cereals, macaroni, vegetable oil, sugar, tea, flour and hygienicaccessories - said Bolataeva. - A very important part of the ICRC activities for assisting the most vulnerable people is a program of home visits: ICRC regularly visits 14 old and disabled people, who have been left without care of relatives, both in urban and rural areas. This especially vulnerable group is provided aid in the form of food products, household help or bed patient care. "
She added, the ICRC was developing a program for supporting the large families in South Ossetia.
"We have received many requests from the large families, so it was decided to consider providing assistance to this group of population. Appropriate assistance will be provided on the basis of the monthly income of each individual family, "- said the representative of the ICRC.
According to her, this program will be implemented next year.
