The issue of the missing persons was discussed at the border of South Ossetia and Georgia

Atrilateral meeting of members of the Coordination Mechanism on addressing the issues of the missing persons after the August 2008 has been held in the Georgian village of Ergneti, which is bordering on South Ossetia.
As the Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of South Ossetia on post-conflict settlement Hokh Gagloyty reported IA "Res", the work of the Mechanism had been held under the auspices of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), by attending the representatives of South Ossetia, Russia and Georgia.
"They have discussed the issue of searching for the five missing citizens of South Ossetia: Khachirov, Khugaev, Pliev, Kabisov and Ikaev, who have been listed as the missing since the military conflict in 2008. We have certain materials about these persons, and, in our view, Georgia is not carrying the relevant works - Gagloyty said. - It was also made a decision that the searching process would include the persons who had been listed as the missing since 1991-1992."

According to Gagloyty, the remains of two people were found this year in South Ossetia. After the exhumation they were transferred to the Georgian side.
"The government of South Ossetia expresses complete understanding of the humanitarian component of the issue. Unfortunately, we have not seen the similar steps from the Georgian side, "- he has underlined.
Deputy Ambassador has focused on the fact that for more effective work to search for the missing, everybody who has any information on this subject need to work closely with the Office of the Plenipotentiary of the President on the post-conflict settlement.
"We ask all the citizens who have any information about the missing persons, to contact our office. This will boost our efforts and will promote a more detailed work for searching for the missing, "- added the official.
The next meeting is scheduled for March 2013.
It should be noted that the Coordination Mechanism on addressing issues of the missing persons in connection with the conflict in August 2008 was established in February 2010 under the auspices of the ICRC. The sixth meeting in this format was held September 6. The meetings aresystematic and are conducted semi-annually.
