The government of South Ossetia cancelled a simplified regime for crossing a state border of Georgia by the villagers of Artsev

The government of South Ossetia at the today`s meeting approved a resolution to abolish a simplified regime of crossing the state border of Georgia by the villagers of Artsev in Tskhinval district of the Republic. As a head of the KGB Border Service of South Ossetia Sergei Kolbin has explained in his report, this decision was made with regard to completion the road construction that will provide a year-round traffic service between Tskhinval and the village of Artsev.

According to him, the commissioning of the road will exclude socio-economic dependence of the villagers on Georgia.
"Cancelling the simplified crossing is also necessary in order to ensure security of South Ossetia and full protection of the state border," - he underlined.
In this regard, out of the previously adopted resolutions of the government "On Points of Passing through the State Border and the Border Crossing" has been deleted the item "Artsev."
KGB of South Ossetia in coordination with the Border Control Agency of the Federal Security Service in South Ossetia is in charge of providing adjustment of the protection system of the state border in Artsev direction.
