The ICRC is taking measures to improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable category of population in South Ossetia

To help the low-income population is one of the priorities of the Mission of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in South Ossetia. This has been said IA "Res" by a spokesperson of the ICRC in South Ossetia Marina Tedeti.

"In addition to regular assistance to 300 families among the most vulnerable category of population in the form of food, hygiene products and other essentials, home-visits to the elderly and the infirm people deprived of relatives. The Mission`s staff has also arranged the activities to improve their living conditions," - said Tedety.
In particular, within the measures, taken in this direction, is carried out minor repair of dwellings, roofs, walls, stairs, bathroom units, replacement of windows and glass, as well as other works for the lonely, sick, poor pensioners and large families.
"This is done to ensure that the houses and apartments of the people are fit for habitation" –underlined Tedeti.
According to her, the ICRC has already helped 12 families – belonging to the most vulnerable category of population in Tskhinval and also in Znaur, Dzausky and Tskhinval district of South Ossetia to improve their living conditions.
"By the end of the year we plan to provide assistance to one more family", - added the Mission`s representative.
She added that the ICRC would continue its work in 2013 to improve housing conditions for the most vulnerable population of South Ossetia
