ICRC is providing humanitarian aid to the residents of South Ossetia

The Mission of the International Committee of the Red Cross is providing humanitarian aid to residents of the districts of South Ossetia, whose farmlands have suffered from hail in June. The humanitarian action started on December 4 and will continue for several days.

The assistance will be provided to 220 families, living in Tskhinval and Znaur District. The ICRC employees have already delivered the humanitarian aid to the villages of Tskhinval district -Upper and Lower Khod, Tbet, Galuanta, Bibylta.
Each family received 50 kg of potatoes and flour, ten kg of onions, five kg of garlic and 20 kg of kidney beans.
According to the ICRC representative Anna Sanakoeva, the delivery of humanitarian aid to the villages, affected by the disaster, will continue to the end of next week.
"We plan to complete the distribution of aid to December 14," - she said.
The villagers were expressing their thanks when receiving the aid.
"This summer all the crops in our vegetable gardens were destroyed by hail. The vineyards have also suffered - only the bare branches are left there. The roofs of our houses have also been strongly damaged. We are grateful for this help very much, "- said a resident of the villageof Galuanta Claudia Gagloeva.
