In Switzerlandhas finished the 23rd round of the international Geneva discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia.
As the news agency "Res" was informed over the phone from Geneva by head of the South Ossetian delegation to the Geneva talks Murat Dzhioev, the main issue of this round was ensuring of the security of South Ossetia and Abkhazia by Georgia.

"Participants exchanged views on the situation at the Georgian-South Ossetian and Abkhazian-Georgian border. It was noted that the overall situation was relatively calm, but they focused on the ongoing violations of the airspace of the Republic of South Ossetia by Georgia, as well as on violations of the border crossing regime, "- he said.
According to Dzhioev, the Ossetian panelists noted that all efforts to strengthen the state border of the Republic of South Ossetia with Georgia are applied in accordance with the sovereign right of South Ossetia to strengthen its borders and the legislation of South Ossetia.
"Thus were rejected the claims by the Georgian side on the so-called violations of the boundary line. It was also noted the effective work of the Mechanisms for Preventing and Responding to Incidents at the South Ossetian-Georgian border," - said Dzhioev.
According to the head of the delegation, the meeting focused on drafting a legally binding agreement on non-use of force by Georgia against the Republic of South Ossetia.
"According to the South Ossetian delegation, an important intermediate step on drafting this document must be a declaration of the participants of the talks on the commitment to the principle of non-use of force.
Such proposal was advanced by the Russian delegation at the 19 th round. At thelast round was going on the experts` work on coordinating the declaration`s text" - said Dzhioev.
He added that they had also discussed humanitarian issues.
"At the request of several delegations was held a final joint meeting of the two working groups. However, unconstructive position of the Georgian delegation's leader, who ignored the joint session, has reduced the possibility of effective discussion of the agenda," - stressed Dzhioev.
He has announced that the next round of the Geneva talks is scheduled for June 25-26 this year.
South Ossetian delegation consists of the State Adviser to the President Konstantin Kochiev, head of the South Ossetian delegation at the meetings in the MPRI format Khokh Gagloyty, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Kazbulat Tskhovrebov and Presidential Commissioner for Human Rights Inal Tasoev.
Geneva discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia are conducted since October 2008 on the basis of the agreements reached after the armed aggression of Georgia against South Ossetia in August 2008. The Geneva meetings are attended on an equal basis by delegations of Abkhazia, Georgia, Russia, the U.S., South Ossetia, as well as by the EU, the UN and the OSCE representatives.
