To simplify the procedure of customs clearance of commercial goods transported through the Russian-South Ossetian border checkpoint near the "Lower Zaramag" (North Ossetia) it is planned to open an office of special customs representatives (brokers).

As IA "Res" was reported by a Chairman of the State Customs Committee of South Ossetia Murat Tskhovrebov, the relevant agreement had been reached in the course of the meetings between the South Ossetian customs officers with the Russian colleagues last week in the "Lower Zaramag".
"We discussed the possibility of simplifying the procedure of registration of commercial goods transported from Russia to South Ossetia. After a detailed review of this issue, we have come to the conclusion that commercial goods must be registered in an appropriate way that means not being transported for personal use, but as commercial consignment, "- said the head of the State Customs Committee.
To simplify this procedure, it was decided to establish an office of the customs representatives (brokers) who will be engaged in clearance of commercial goods outside the zone of customs control checkpoint at the Russian-South Ossetian border.
"The procedure is the following: the owner of the vehicle, heading for Russia will present at the checkpoint the list of the supposed goods to be purchased. While the truck comes back, the customs clearance procedure will be completed "- said Tskhovrebov.
According to him, the brokers will provide their services at minimal cost.
