Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria is the first signatory to the 2003 full-scale cooperation agreement with the unrecognized at that time Republic of South Ossetia, said today the South Ossetian Parliament Speaker Stanisłav Kochiev at a briefing in Tskhinval.

"10 years ago, our delegation, led by then acting President Eduard Kokoity paid an official visit to Kabardino-Balkaria, on the invitation of the late head of the Republic Valery Kokov. During this visit was signed a full-scale cooperation agreement between the two republics "- reminded Kochiev.
According to the RSO Speaker it was a very brave, strong and friendly move by the leadership of Kabardino-Balkaria in relation to the people of South Ossetia.
"Neither the international community, nor the then Russian authorities considered South Ossetia as the independent state - said the speaker. - This courageous step is not forgotten by us and will encourage further development of our relations. And today`s signing of the memorandum between the parliaments of South Ossetia and Kabardino-Balkaria is the crowning achievement of our almost two-year work. "
Stanislav Kochiev also expressed his gratitude to the leadership and people of the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria for assistance in the post-war rehabilitation of South Ossetia after the Georgian aggression in August 2008.
It should be reminded that today in Tskhinval was signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the parliaments of the Republic of South Ossetia and Kabardino-Balkaria.
