The 24 round of international discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia has been completed in Geneva. As reported to the news agency "Res" over the phone from Geneva by the head of the South Ossetian delegation, Presidential Envoy to the RSO for post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev, the participants of the talks had focused on security issues of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

"The South Ossetian delegation has informed the participants of the Geneva talks that all the works on defining the borderline between the Republic of South Ossetia and Georgia are carried out in accordance with legislation of the Republic, in its territory at a certain distance from the borderline, "- said the envoy.
These works promote security and peace in the border areas and are aimed primarily at preventing the illegal crossing of the state border, which is often violated by the locals because of ignorance of the borderline.
"It has also been noted that these works do not affect the territory or the sovereignty of neighboring Georgia. Russian border guards are in the Republic of South Ossetia in accordance with the 2009 bilateral agreement between South Ossetia and Russia and carry out the works on behalf of the relevant border services of South Ossetia. Any claims by the Georgian authorities are unfounded, "- said the envoy.
South Ossetian delegation also proved the invalidity of claims by the Georgian side against the borderline between the two countries.
"The South Ossetian delegation has once again reminded that in the Republic of South Ossetia was formed a government commission on defining the borderline between South Ossetia and Georgia. We asked the co-chairs of the Geneva discussions to act as mediators between South Ossetia and Georgia and to call on the Georgian side to work together with the Commission to discuss any issues around the perimeter of the state border, "- said Dzhioev.
The main objective of the Geneva discussions is to develop a document on the non-use of force by Georgia against South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
"However, the non-constructive position of the Georgian delegation did not promote negotiating the text of the interim statement on the commitment to the principle of non-use of force", - said the envoy.
He has added that due to the fact that the Georgian authorities for the fifth year have been submitting the refugee issue to the General Assembly of the United Nations, this question was not discussed at the Geneva talks.
"The South Ossetian and Abkhaz participants expressed their willingness to attend the next session of the General Assembly of the United Nations to express the well-reasoned position of the two states on this issue", - he said.
During the 24 round of the Geneva discussions were also discussed some humanitarian issues.
