The issues of further cooperation between the law enforcement authorities of South Ossetia and Russia were discussed at the meeting between the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic Akhsar Lavoev and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Russia Igor Zubov.

At the meeting has also been raised the issue of the provision of practical assistance to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of South Ossetia to investigate the criminal corruption offenses committed in the territory of the Republic.
"I raised this issue during a meeting with a delegation of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. We appealed to our Russian counterparts to assist us in bringing to justice the natives of South Ossetia, suspected of embezzlement of the Russian financial aid and hiding in Russia. We have opened dozens of criminal cases of corruption, but the persons involved in financial crimes refuse to come to South Ossetia to testify, "- said Lavoev, adding that the Russian officials had promised to assist the law enforcement authorities of South Ossetia in addressing these and other issues.
