June 27, South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov in response to the appeal of the authorities of the Donetsk People's Republic signed an Executive Order, recognizing the DPR as the independent sovereign state.

According to Vice-Speaker of the RSO Parliament Dmitry Tasoev ("United Ossetia"), the recognition of the independence of the Donetsk People's Republic is a move that South Ossetia, being in the same situation for 20 years, was supposed to do anyway.
"I think this decision will help to prevent the bloodshed and killing of civilians. We are not indifferent to the fate of the people struggling for the freedom in Lugansk and Donetsk, who are being destroyed by the current government of Ukraine. These actions violate all norms of law and morality, "- said Tasoev.
Vice-Speaker Ruslan Tedeev ("Unity of the People") called the president's decision on the recognition of the Donetsk People's Republic timely and fair.
He has noted that residents of Donetsk are in the same situation as people of South Ossetia, were for many years.
"At one time we too were waiting for such outside assistance, our independence, for which there was a struggle of a whole generation of South Ossetians to be recognized, and it has happened. Despite the fact that South Ossetia is a partially recognized republic, recognition of the independence of the Donetsk People's Republic is also some kind of help. Now they know that there are people in the world who sympathize with them and who support them. This is the view of all the deputies and I am sure that all the people of South Ossetia have supported this decision, "- said Tedeev.
According to the People's Party member Amiran Diakonov, recognition of the Donetsk People's Republic is a fair decision of the leadership of South Ossetia.
He has stated that to power in Ukraine have come nationalists, who follow fascist policy, reminding that the national liberation struggle in South Ossetia also began after the announcement of the Georgian language as the state language in the Republic. "Ukraine is now stepping on the same rake as Georgia and the events there is a mirror reflection of the actions of the Georgian fascists in the early 90s," - said the deputy.
Recognizing the independence of the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics, South Ossetia has supported the people in their just struggle.
He is confident that these Republic will achieve the stated objectives.
