In order to create a unified procedure for crossing the state border of the Russian Federation, as well as better control over migration processes on the entry and exit the territory of Russia, the Russian law on dual citizenship has been amended and supplemented.

"Citizen with dual citizenship or going to get the citizenship of another country must notify the federal or territorial Migration Service of the Russian Federation", - told the news agency "Res" Acting Foreign Minister of South Ossetia David Sanakoev, adding that currently the Russian government is developing warning mechanisms of the Migration Service.
"The Russian government is developing a mechanism to notify the migration services. Once the mechanisms are developed, they will be communicated to Russian citizens living in South Ossetia. This regulation comes into force on August 4, and applies to all citizens of the Russian Federation, except for living in the Crimea ", - he said.
Sanakoev has added that based on the agreement between South Ossetia and Russia on visa-free travel, it is still possible to cross the Russian border with the national South- Ossetian passports, foreign passports, diplomatic and service passports. Within 90 days, the citizens of South Ossetia can stay on the territory of the Russian Federation without a visa.
