The delegation of South Ossetia paid tribute to the memory of soldiers-liberators in Sukhum

The delegation of South Ossetia, arrived in Abkhazia to participate in the events dedicated to the celebration of Independence Day, laid flowers and wreaths at the Memorial to thosw killed in the Patriotic War of the Abkhaz in Sukhum, told the correspondent of IA "Res" Inga Chekhoeva.

The ceremony of honoring the memory of fallen soldiers-liberators at the memorial on the Alley of Glory was attended by the Abkhaz leadership, headed by President Raul Khajimba, representatives of ministries and departments, residents and guests of the Republic.

South Ossetian delegation is headed by the Prosecutor General of South Ossetia Uruzmag Dzhagaev. The delegation has also included Minister of Defense of South Ossetia Ibrahim Gasseev, Minister of Internal Affairs of South Ossetia Akhsar Lavoev, invalids of the war in South Ossetia. The event was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of South Ossetia to Abkhazia Oleg Botsiev, as well as the Embassy staff.

There also took place a military parade. The parade was commanded by the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Abkhazia, General of the Army Mirab Kishmariya.

Today, the South Ossetian delegation will hold meetings with President of Abkhazia, Vice President, Defense Minister and other members of the leadership of Abkhazia.

The 1992-1993 Patriotic War of the Abkhaz Nation lasted 413 days and ended with the victory over the Georgian aggressor. The entire territory of Abkhazia was liberated from Georgian troops on September 30, 1993.
