The Foreign Ministers of South Ossetia and Transnistria agreed to strengthen cooperation

Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia Dmitry Medoev held a working meeting with the head of the foreign- policy department of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vitaly Ignatiev.
As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, negotiations of the two ministers were held in Brussels at the European Parliament within the framework of the 11th European Russian Forum .
During the conversation Dmitry Medoev and Vitaly Ignatiev discussed a range of issues of mutual interest. In particular, it was about strengthening cooperation through the foreign policy departments of the two countries.
In addition, following the meeting, a joint communiqué was adopted in which the Foreign Ministers of South Ossetia and the PMR reaffirmed the importance of developing bilateral cooperation to intensify joint efforts in the international arena.
The ministers decided to hold regular inter-ministerial consultations and carry out close bilateral cooperation on a wide range of topical issues in the sphere of foreign policy.
The foreign ministers agreed to promote the process of networking of South Ossetia and the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic with other states and international organizations.
Also, taking into account the positive experience of joint work within the framework of the XI European Russian Forum, the diplomats discussed measures to expand the practical participation of the two republics at various international venues, including through the development of inter-parliamentary ties.
