The sending of a lawsuit against Russia by the Georgian authorities to the European court of human rights once again shows their inability and persistent unwillingness to adequately perceive the long-established geopolitical realities in the region, said South Ossetian Presidential Envoy for post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev.

"By pretending that they do not recognize and do not see an independent state alongside Georgia, the Republic of South Ossetia, which is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its international recognition these days, and in September will mark the 28th anniversary of its existence, Georgia continues to call friendly Russian-South Ossetian relations based on the international legal basis, as "occupation", " Dzhioev said.

According to him, this is nothing more than an absurd propaganda action.
"Firstly, the territory of South Ossetia has no relation to the so-called "territorial integrity of Georgia" after the collapse of the Soviet Union; second, in 2012, within the framework of the Geneva discussions on security in the South Caucasus, a discussion was held on the acceptability of the use of the concept of "occupation" in relation to South Ossetia, and neither the Georgian representatives, nor the international ones could bring any argument that would allow this concept to be applied to the relations between Russia and South Ossetia, and the South Ossetian delegation showed complete absurdity of such statements, " said the Envoy.

He has added that, from the point of view of Georgia, Russia's "guilt" is that it did not give and does not give an opportunity to swallow South Ossetia and destroy its people.
"Therefore, all sorts of ridiculous accusations are invented, it is created a myth "about violations of the rights of Georgians", are arranged excursions "for high-ranking guests to the state border with South Ossetia," Dzhioev said." And all this is done by a country that for about 20 years waged a permanent war against South Ossetia, the country which was recognized the aggressor who had unleashed war against South Ossetia in August 2008. Apparently, there is a need to remind the Georgian authorities and their patrons more often about this conclusion of the European Union independent commission."

Touching upon the issue of Tatunashvili's death, the Envoy has noted that even a very competent Georgian expert center named after Samkharauli found no basis for the conclusion about his "murder."
"For this, the staff of the Center in Georgia underwent severe obstruction. It is simply inhuman that on the death of a person, on the grief of his relatives, certain forces in Georgia are making their political business, " Dzhioev concluded.
