Delegation of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the DPR arrived in South Ossetia

The delegation of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Donetsk People's Republic, which arrived in Tskhinval, discussed with the South Ossetian colleagues plans for further cooperation. According to the press service of the emergency department of the Republic of South Ossetia, the meeting discussed the provision on the creation of a joint commission to implement the signed intergovernmental agreement between the Emergencies Ministry of the two republics "On cooperation in the field of emergency prevention and response."

The parties discussed the issue of mutual assistance, in particular, in the area of ​​exchange of experience.

First Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Atsamaz Bestauty has expressed his gratitude to his colleagues for the visit, noting that the work is to be done on discussing the regulation on the establishment of a working commission.

“I hope it will work fruitfully. We will discuss issues of assistance in the field of emergency prevention and response. We are separated by a large territory, but I assure you that the Emergencies Ministry of South Ossetia is always ready to come to the aid of colleagues from the DPR,” said Atsamaz Bestauty.

Cooperation plans

The head of the delegation of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the DPR, Chief State Fire Safety Inspector Dmitry Kostyamin, in turn, outlined a number of proposals for cooperation.

Earlier, during the signing of a cooperation agreement on December 27, 2018, Minister Alan Tadtaev and his colleague Alexey Kostrubitsky discussed the issue of assistance in conducting a survey of the territories of South Ossetia for the detection and destruction of explosive objects.

“It was discussed the possibility of humanitarian demining of the territory of South Ossetia. For our part, we are ready to conduct such work. But it is necessary to develop a plan and resolve issues through foreign ministries, because the demining equipment is military, and it is necessary to solve the issue of its transportation across the Russian border,” Kostyamin emphasized, noting that the issues are planned to be resolved until May, and then it will be determined the time for starting the mine clearing.

Russian sappers will arrive in 2019 to carry out the fourth stage of demining.
“I would like to wait for the completion of their work to determine what other areas need to be cleared of mines,” said Bestauty.

Internship opportunities

In addition, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of South Ossetia has opportunities for further training in the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the DPR - in Donetsk operates the Academy of the Ministry of emergency situations, where cadets of EMERCOM of South Ossetia can be sent according to quotas.
