In South Ossetia has been ratified an agreement on cooperation with the LPR

Deputies on Thursday ratified an Agreementon friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance between South Ossetia and the Lugansk People’s Republic.

The draft law was submitted to parliamentarians by Alexander Pliev, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Relations and Inter-Parliamentary Activity.

He has noted that the agreement was signed by the President of the Republic Anatoly Bibilov and the head of the LPR, Leonid Pasechnik on December 29, 2018 in the framework of the first official visit of the head of the LPR to South Ossetia.

According to Pliev, the agreement affects all spheres of the Republic’s life.

Deputies voted unanimously to ratify the Treaty.

Earlier, the head of the Republic Anatoly Bibilov told about the first steps towards the implementation of the interstate agreement.

“We have a fairly close relationship with the LPR in economic terms, more than 60 joint ventures have already been registered in South Ossetia. There are financial relations, we need to develop banking relations,” said Bibilov.

According to him, between the republics there is an "unplowed field" for work in almost all spheres. The President has noted that South Ossetia is interested in educational processes, universities of the LPR.

South Ossetia in 2014 recognized the independence of the DPR and the LPR. Diplomatic relations have been established between Tskhinval and the republics. Representative offices of South Ossetia operate in Donetsk and Lugansk, and representatives of the DPR and the LPR in Tskhinval.
