Anatoly Bibilov expressed support to the people of France in connection with the fire in Notre Dame

President of South Ossetia, Anatoly Bibilov, on his pages on social networks Instagram and Facebook expressed his condolences to the people of France in connection with the fire in the Notre Dame Cathedral, expressing hope for the speedy restoration of this architectural monument.

"The flame of the burning Cathedral of our lady of Paris painfully burned the hearts of all people who feel belonging to human civilization. The fire, which caused terrible damage to this monument on a global scale, once again reminded us how vulnerable and how important the cultural and historical heritage of mankind is for all of us. South Ossetia empathizes with the people of France and hopes that people will once again be able to see Notre Dame as it was admired by many dozens of generations," the head of state wrote on his page.

Many world leaders, cultural figures and artists regarded the fire in the Cathedral of Notre Dame as a personal tragedy - from different countries there are words of support for France, for which this has become an irretrievable loss. Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed sympathy to French President Emmanuel Macron and the entire French people in connection with the tragic consequences of the fire and offerred sending the best Russian specialists to France to help restore the Cathedral.

The largest fire in the Cathedral of Notre Dame occurred on Monday evening. The spire of the cathedral collapsed, the bearing structure was enveloped in flame. As the world media reported, the structure of Notre Dame and the main works survived. According to French media reports, a fire may be associated with restoration work. The prosecutor's office opened an investigation into the unintentional damage. As stated by the French prosecutor, the fire in the Cathedral was not deliberate, the priority version is the random nature of the fire. International organizations and large companies offered their assistance in restoring the cathedral and raising funds for its restoration.
