President Anatoly Bibilov took part in a memorial rally dedicated to the 28th anniversary of the Tsinagar tragedy. April 28, 1991, seven unarmed residents of the village of Tsinagar in Leningor District - Otar Margiev, Givi Bibilov, Slavik Chertkoev, Zaur Khubulov, Otar Khubulov, Tengiz Dudaev and Taimuraz Khubulov - defending their pastures from cattle theft, were killed by the Georgian aggressors.

The leadership of the Republic headed by President Anatoly Bibilov arrived today in Tsinagar to honor their memory, the presidential press service reports.

After laying wreaths and flowers at the monument to the fallen defenders of the Fatherland, the President addressed to their families, villagers and all those gathered. He recalled many tragic dates in the history of South Ossetia, and with regret noted the merciless cruelty of the dishonest southern neighbors.

“Many troubles have fallen to the lot of the long-suffering Ossetian people. There is no such corner in the Republic that the ruthless, bloodthirsty hand of the Georgian aggressors would not touch. Their victims were not only young guys, who were heroically defending their people and their Republic, they burned the villages to the ground, sparing neither children, nor women, nor old people, ”said Anatoly Bibilov.

The President stressed that the Tsinagar tragedy was a tragedy of the entire Republic. He called to remember the names of all who laid their heads on the altar of the Fatherland, and to do everything so that the heroes would be known, remembered and honored by representatives of the younger generation.

“We gather here every year to honor their memory. These heroes, like all defenders of South Ossetia, should never be forgotten. They gave their lives for today's young generation, for its calm and prosperous future. And they are a worthy example of courage and love for the Motherland and its long-suffering people,” he stressed.

At the end of his speech, the head of state congratulated everyone on the bright holiday - the Resurrection of Christ - and wished everyone peace and God's grace.
