Observers for the parliamentary elections in South Ossetia noted in the press center for parliamentary elections the democratic nature of the organized electoral processes.

According to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lugansk People’s Republic, Anna Soroka, the legislative framework in the Republic conforms to international standards.

“We visited many polling stations, and we were struck by the transparency of the electoral process, which differed in the elections. There was no possibility of fraud, the data fraud,” she said.

Deputy Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission of the LPR, Maxim Svidchenko, in turn, noted that the high turnout in the elections and the free will of the people confirmed that the Republic had taken the right course.

The head of the Rodina faction of the National Assembly of the Artsakh Republic Arthur Tovmasyan has added that the voting in the Republic was held without infringing the rights of political competitors.

“The elections showed the ability to develop South Ossetia in a democratic way. The elections that we observed turned out to be open and transparent, the observer has emphasized.

Berlin regional parliamentary deputy Gunnar Lindemann has noted that the elections in South Ossetia met European standards.

“We have seen fair, democratic elections, like in Europe. Everything was transparent, open and met European standards. I think that Germany and Europe as a whole should recognize the results of these elections.

They should recognize the existing realities, they should change their view of South Ossetia and think about its recognition as an independent state,” the observer said.
