Observers from South Ossetia leave for Abkhazia for presidential election

Elections of the President of Abkhazia will be held on August 25

Representatives of the Presidential Executive Office, Parliament and the Central Election Commission of South Ossetia went to Abkhazia for international monitoring of the presidential election. The delegation as international observers included the first Deputy head of the Presidential Executive Office Alan Dzhussoev, CEC secretary Kristina Avlokhova. The delegation is led by First Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic Petr Gassiev.

As noted by Alan Dzhussoev, it will be interesting for South Ossetian representatives to observe the election process not only in Sukhum, but also in the districts of the Republic.

"It is interesting to look at people's moods, their attitude to the authorities, how actively they will take part in the elections. I think, we will visit polling stations both in the capital and in the districts," he said.

Alan Dzhussoev has noted that each government of the republic - executive and legislative - for its part, invites guests to monitor the election process, taking into account this, a South Ossetian delegation was formed.

The crew of the state television and radio company "IR" also went to cover the presidential elections in Abkhazia.

For the first time in the history of the presidential election in Abkhazia, 10 candidates are participating in the campaign. Voting results should be announced within three days after the election day, by August 28th.
