South Ossetia has intensified contacts with the EU mission due to the actions of Georgia on the border.

South Ossetia addressed the co-chairs of the Geneva discussions on security in Transcaucasia in connection with the provocation of the Georgian side in the border zone, in the vicinity of the village of Tsnelis, Presidential Rnvoy for post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev told IA "Res".

"Residents of the village of Tsnelis are extremely concerned about the situation. We intend to raise this issue at a meeting in the format of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanisms (PRMM) on August 29, as the co-chairs of the Geneva discussions were informed," the Envoy said.

Murat Dzhioev has emphasized that recently there has been an intensification of Georgian police along the entire perimeter of the border, "which of course is alarming." It is about putting up a Georgian police post in the area of the Ossetian village of Pereu near the Sinagur border crossing point.

"We raised this issue at a meeting within the framework of the IPRM, but the Georgian party is continuing provocations. In this regard, a telephone hotline with the European Union Monitoring Mission has also been activated today," he said.

A resident of Tsnelis told IA "Res" that they were worried about putting up a Georgian post in the village.

"Last night we didn’t even sleep, a tractor was workong there all night, it is very close to our village, and we are very worried, we hope that the situation will be resolved," he said.

It should be noted that in the vicinity of the village of Tsnelis in the Znaur district of South Ossetia, Georgian security forces cut down a forest, made a road and put up a post and a Georgian flag.

The authorities of South Ossetia on the eve expressed their indignation and concern over the current situation and consider the actions of the Georgian side a provocation.

"We pay special attention to the fact that this is happening on the eve of the next anniversary of the recognition of the independence of the Republic by Russia and the meeting within the framework of the IPRM (mechanism for preventing and responding to incidents), which is scheduled for August 29," Murat Dzhioev said earlier.

The South Ossetian side demanded an end to this provocation.

According to Dzhioev, South Ossetia has repeatedly suggested that the Georgian leadership sit at the negotiating table and discuss the border line, "however, Tbilisi stubbornly refuses."
