The first International Diplomatic Forum Charles Readings was held in Antalya, Turkey, as part of the II International Festival of Russian-Turkish Friendship "Sources", with the support of the Andrei Karlov Foundation and the Moscow International School, the 15th Region reports.

The event was dedicated to the memory of the Russian diplomat, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Turkey, Hero of Russia A.G. Karlov, who was killed in 2016.

The importance of the Forum was noted in their welcome letters by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov, the head of Rossotrudnichestvo Eleonora Mitrofanova, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Turkey, Alexei Yerkhov.

Speakers at the forum were Adviser to Minister of National Relations of North Ossetia, People’s Artist of the North and South of Alania Amaga Gotti and Honored Artist of South Ossetia, member of the Executive Committee of the Combat Brotherhood All-Union War Council Alana Tskhovrebova.

Amaga Gotti told about the Alan Trace international project, and Alana Tskhovrebova informed the Forum participants about the heroism of the Ossetian people, outstanding figures of culture and art, science, eminent athletes and Heroes of the USSR and Russia, as well as about her film “This is not the time for heroism”. The parties agreed to show this film in Russian schools in Turkey. According to Amaga Gotti, the most important aspect of the project is the fact that the Alan Trail unites Ossetians around the world. “Within the framework of the days of the Alan Trail, master classes are being held that allow to take an excursion into the history of the Ossetian people, learn the native language, traditions and customs of the Ossetian people. We have prepared this serious and important topic together with the Ministry of Ethnic Affairs of North Ossetia. I am convinced that it is through such projects that we can build bridges of real people's diplomacy, with which our team has successfully coped. I`d like to note that the employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, State Duma deputies, and representatives of the Russian consulate in Turkey praised this project and our work. We handed over a memorable gift for Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov through Adviser Andrei Volkov,” she said.

Alana Tskhovrebova has noted that she had a goal - to convey to the Forum participants how heroic the people of Ossetia. “I was approached by the organizers of the Forum with a request to present the film “Not a Time for Heroism”. This picture is part of my soul, and I always tell the audience about it with great excitement.

The “Karlov” participants were surprised that the film was presented at the Cannes Film Festival and was also presented to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Now the youth of Turkey will be able to watch the film on special class hours and in cinema halls of educational institutions. More children around the world will learn about the children-heroes of Russia,” she said. It should be noted that the film "No time for heroism", a book about the history of Ossetia by Tamerlan Kambolov, national Souvenirs were transferred to the Museum of Andrei Karlov.

Another representative of South Ossetia, Marta Kharebova, became a participant in the II International Festival of Russian-Turkish Friendship “Sources “.
