South Ossetia and Russia discussed plans for 2020 as part of the demarcation commission

The third meeting of the Joint South Ossetian-Russian Demarcation Commission took place in Moscow, the parties discussed the working plan for 2020, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic said on Thursday.

"On October 29-31, the third meeting of the Joint South Ossetian-Russian Demarcation Commission took place in Moscow. The meeting was held in the spirit of good-neighborliness and constructive dialogue. At the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to detailing the work plan for 2020, and also approved a number of regulatory documents», - said in a joint statement following the meeting, published on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the republic.

The Foreign Ministry has noted that the next meeting of the Joint Commission will be held in the Republic of South Ossetia. The dates of the meeting will be agreed through diplomatic channels.

The Commission on the delimitation and demarcation of the state border of South Ossetia with Russia was created in the fall of 2012. The first meeting of the Joint South Ossetian-Russian Demarcation Commission was held in Moscow in September 2018, then the parties signed the Regulation on the joint South Ossetian-Russian Demarcation Commission. The second meeting of the Commission was held in Tskhinval with the participation of the President of the Republic Anatoly Bibilov.
