Another 13 tests for coronavirus showed a negative result in South Ossetia

The next group of South Ossetian citizens who arrived in the Republic 10 days ago was tested for coronavirus, they all showed a negative result, there are no cases of coronavirus infection in the Republic,” said Marina Kochieva, head of the South Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee, to IA “Res”.

“On Saturday, tests were carried out in our laboratory for a third group of citizens who are quarantined for 10 days, which is 13 people who arrived from Russia on April 23. The test results are all negative,” Kochieva said.

The chief sanitary doctor has noted that 183 tests were carried out during the announcement of quarantine by South Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee, all of them are negative.

“The fact that there is no infection in the Republic is the result of our joint work with all interested departments. We must continue to take measures to prevent the penetration of the infection into the Republic, given the current epidemiological situation in neighboring regions,” Kochieva said.

The government of South Ossetia at the end of the week extended the period of restrictive measures related to combating coronavirus infection until May 11 inclusive. Educational institutions will also be closed for this period.

Due to the threat of the spread of coronavirus infection, medical facilities are quarantined and operate in a special mode.

Earlier it was reported that 20 citizens of the Republic would return home from the North Ossetia-Alania within a week. A further 57 South Ossetian citizens who wanted to return home applied to the consular agency. Upon arrival in South Ossetia, all citizens will be quarantined in a Republican hospital.

The transportation of citizens of South Ossetia has been organized by the authorities of the Republic since April 14 and continues to this day according to the schedule developed by the Republic’s Foreign Ministry. In the new week, students of military universities of the Russian Federation who completed their studies ahead of schedule will also return to Tskhinval.
