No cases of COVID-19 infections were detected in South Ossetia during the day

Over the past day, South Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee conducted 43 tests for coronavirus, all of them are negative, 23 cases of COVID-19 infection were registered in the Republic on the morning of May 12, Anna Gagloeva, Deputy head of the South Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee, told IA "Res" on Tuesday morning.

"The day before, we conducted 43 more tests (431 in total), all of them are negative," Gagloeva said.

She has noted that 228 people are under two-week quarantine in medical institutions of the Republic, 73 of them are in districts, they are cadets who returned to South Ossetia from the Russian Federation, and citizens who returned to the Republic under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Cabinet of Ministers of South Ossetia on Friday extended restrictive measures in the Republic until May 31. All public places remain closed, except for food and non-food stores, beauty salons and workshops.

The ban remains on holding cultural events. The border of South Ossetia with the Russian Federation was completely closed from May 10 to 17, and restrictions on movement through the state border imposed until May 31.

The first three cases of infection in the Republic were recorded on May 6.
