Over the past day, South conducted 24 tests for coronavirus, two of them turned out to be positive, all the rest were negative. Thus, on the morning of May 13, 25 cases of COVID-19 infection were registered in the Republic, Anna Gagloeva, Deputy head of the South-Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee, told IA "Res " on Wednesday.

"The coronavirus was laboratory confirmed in a student of the Russian military university and a citizen of the Republic who arrived via the Foreign Ministry. They were in quarantine," Gagloeva said.

She has noted that 290 people are under two-week quarantine, 218 are in medical institutions of the Republic, and 73 of them are in the districts.

In total, 388 studies have been conducted in the Republic, among them there are the repeated ones. In South Ossetia there are doctors of the Stavropol Anti-Plague Institute, who provide methodological and advisory assistance to South Ossetian laboratory doctors. They brought with them the test systems of two companies and consumables. In addition, a cargo arrived from Stavropol for South Ossetia, it is already in North Ossetia, in which 12 test systems designed for 800 studies, another 500 studies are in stock. The laboratory in South Ossetia is provided with everything necessary. Assistance from Russian colleagues will continue to be provided.

The sanitary service calls on citizens of the Republic to observe all security measures. The South Ossetian Consumer Supervision Hotline continues to operate in South Ossetia: +7 (929) 810-60-96; +7 (929) 805-88-96.

Earlier, President of South Ossetia, Anatoly Bibilov, signed a decree declaring non-working days from May 12 to May 28 inclusively with the preservation of wages due to the situation with COVID-19.

The Cabinet of Ministers of South Ossetia extended restrictive measures in the republic until May 31. All public places remain closed, except for food and non-food stores, beauty salons and workshops. The ban remains on holding cultural events.

The border of South Ossetia with the Russian Federation is completely closed from May 10 to 17, and restrictions on movement through the state border are introduced until May 31.

The first three cases of infection in the Republic were recorded on May 6.
