Not detected during a day: South Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee calls for compliance with the rules applicable for the coronavirus pandemic

Over the past day in South Ossetia, no new cases of coronavirus infection have been detected. Thus, on the morning of May 17, 34 cases of patients with COVID-19 were laboratory-confirmed in the Republic, Marina Kochieva, head of the South Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee, told IA "Res " on Sunday.

"During the day, the picture of morbidity has not changed, in total we have 34 identified cases, today the research will continue," said Marina Kochieva.

Earlier it was reported that two health workers from the "red zone" in the hospital in the village of Znaur, who had no contact with people outside the medical facility, fell ill with coronavirus. All previously infected with coronavirus, mainly cadets of Russian universities, are also in quarantine, their condition is satisfactory, they receive the necessary medical care.

In total, 348 people are in quarantine for two weeks, and 236 are in medical facilities of the Republic. The sanitary service the rules applicable in the case of the coronavirus pandemic.

Earlier, President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov signed a decree declaring non-working days until May 28, inclusive, with salary remaining due to the situation with COVID-19. The Cabinet of South Ossetia also extended the restrictive measures in the republic until May 31.

The border of South Ossetia with the Russian Federation is completely closed until May 17, and a special schedule of movement across the state border has been introduced until May 25.

The first cases of coronavirus infection in the Republic were recorded on May 6.
