Five people diagnosed with a new coronavirus infection were discharged from the Republican Medical Center of South Ossetia after recovery.

"Five patients of the infectious diseases hospital were released home these days after repeating triple samples that showed a negative result," the press service of the Health Ministry of the Republic told IA "Res ".

According to the press service, the remaining 28 patients who have laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 have a stable condition, many of them have no temperature, some are already preparing for discharge.

"All patients are under close medical attention. On Friday, another group of their colleagues will replace the doctors after a week's work, and they will go to the two-week quarantine," the press service said.

In South Ossetia, as of May 21, no new cases of coronavirus infection have been detected. 28 people remain in the infection ward of the Republican Medical Center.

In total, 213 people are under two-week quarantine, in medical institutions of the Republic - 146.

The first cases of COVID-19 infection in the Republic were recorded on May 6, in total, there are 34 laboratory-confirmed cases of coronavirus.
