Plus one: in South Ossetia, another case of coronavirus was detected during the day

In South Ossetia over the past day, a new case of coronavirus infection (35 in total) was detected in a newly arrived cadet, Marina Kochieva, a head of the South-Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee reported on Saturday.

The day before, 71 people were tested in the laboratory of the Committee (in total more than 1,000), one of them showed a positive result. Thus, on the morning of May 23, in the isolation ward of the Republican Medical Center there are 29 patients with coronavirus, among them 16 cadets, 11 citizens who returned through the Consulate and 2 health workers.

“They all feel satisfactory,” the chief medical officer noted.

According to Kochieva, in total, 150 people are under two- week quarantine.

"The next group of cadets from St. Petersburg, which was quarantined for two weeks on Saturday, will be discharged from the medical institution," she said.

The sanitary service calls for compliance with the rules applicable to the coronavirus pandemic. The South Ossetian Consumer Supervision Hotline continues to operate in South Ossetia: +7 (929) 810-60-96; +7 (929) 805-88-96.

The Cabinet of Ministers of South Ossetia extended restrictive measures in the Republic until June 30.

The first cases of coronavirus infection in the Republic were recorded on May 6, for the whole period 35 cases were laboratory-confirmed.
