Over the past day, 23 people have been tested for coronavirus in the laboratory of the South Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee, one of the tests showed a positive result, the head of the Committee Marina Kochieva told IA" Res". on Tuesday morning.

Since the opening of the border with Russia (September 15), about 150 tests have been carried out (in total for the entire period since April of this year, more than 5.3 thousand) for COVID-19.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in South Ossetia, 95 cases of coronavirus infection have been detected, 90 among citizens who were on a mandatory two-week quarantine in medical institutions, all of them recovered.

Earlier it was reported that the head of the South Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee, Marina Kochieva herself contracted the coronavirus and switched to remote regime of working.

"The work will be carried out remotely, the leadership of the Republic has been informed, testing in the laboratory of the Committee continues," she said. COVID-19 infection was also detected in her Deputy, Anna Gagloeva.

The head of the South Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee reminded that the testing format has changed after the border opening: "Previously, we did tests for everyone in quarantine. Today, we are being contacted by citizens with suspected coronavirus. That is, if a person feels unwell, he visits a doctor, who determines the patient's further course of treatment."

The chief sanitary doctor asked the population to take precautions, not to travel outside the Republic, without urgent need.
